I was invited to participate in the Artist-In-Residence program with the 402 Arts Collective in Omaha, Nebraska from January to March 2025. As my capstone project for this residency, I painted a series titled, "INVITATIONS". This series consisted of ten paintings done in pairs of two. My desire was to dive into the process itself of how people navigate situations, thoughts, and feelings (react and respond). Each piece on the left was used as a sort of 'scratch paper', to react and fully address raw emotion and thoughts. The pieces on the right were painted as I processed and settled into the greater message I was aiming to convey. This series touches on themes of fear, loss, and love.
